COMPENSATION RANGE: 3,680.00 - 3,680.00 USD per year

Position Summary:

The ASL Bear Lab Coordinator will oversee theday-to-day operations of the ASL Bear Lab, providing support, coordination, andleadership to ensure the effective functioning of the lab. This position willinvolve working closely with ASL students, faculty, and staff to facilitate acollaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Job Duties:

- Coordinate and oversee the operations of the ASL Bear Lab,including creating and distributing schedules for Language Assistants andStudents, responding to requests made to changes that may occur throughout thesemester, and offering availability when Language Assistants need immediateassistance.
- Provide support and guidance to Language Assistants, includingtrainings, monthly meetings/trainings, assistance and guidance with studentinteractions, and guiding correspondence between students, faculty, and staff.
- Develop and implement training programs for LanguageAssistants to enhance their skills and proficiency, overseeing studentsbehavior and progress, and knowledge of procedures and instruction.
- Responsible for schedulingand conducting interviews with prospective candidates, including schedulingappointments, coordinating interview logistics, and facilitating the interviewprocess.
- Collaborate with faculty members to integrate ASL Bear Labresources into course curriculum and assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ lab attendance, sendingmonthly attendance reports to faculty.
- Stay current with developments in ASL education andtechnology to ensure the lab remains up-to-date and effective.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environmentin the ASL Bear Lab, promoting diversity and cultural sensitivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree in ASL, DeafStudies, Education, or related field preferred).
- Proficiency/fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience working as Coordinator in ASLeducation or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of ASL instructional methods, resources, andtechnology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Forms, Shifts, and Google docs
- Commitment to promoting accessibility andinclusivity for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
