The salary range for this position for candidates withan MA degree is $42,000-$44,600. The salary range for candidates with a Ph.D. isgoing to be $45,000- $47,500.

Position Summary:

The Department of English at the University of Northern Colorado seeks to hire a Contract-Renewable Instructor or Lecturer of Writing Studies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching and advising; scholarly activity; and service to the department, college, and university. Teaching load is four courses per semester, comprised mostly of general education writing. There may also be some opportunity to teach in the Writing, Editing, and Publishing major as well.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic English Department that is committed to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the campus community and the curriculum. They will contribute to the delivery of outstanding writing instruction and demonstrate an ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

An MA in Rhetoric and Composition or a closely related field and at least two (2) years of experience teaching writing at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Rhetoric and Composition. Scholarly publications in the field of Writing Studies and/or Rhetoric and Composition (or the potential to publish). Potential to contribute service to writing program administration and/or evidence of pedagogical innovation and curriculum design. Formal professional development directly related to the field of Rhetoric and Composition (such as workshops, seminars, participation in teacher training activities, etc.). Additional demonstrated expertise in and evidence of anti-racist pedagogies and practices (or commitment to development of anti-racist pedagogy).
