Position Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Recruitment, the Admissions Counselor will serve as a key member of the Office of Admissions recruitment team. The purpose of this position is to serve as a primary line of undergraduate recruitment and marketing efforts including territory management and recruitment activities. This position will be charged with the responsibility of promoting the university, generating interest from prospective students, coaching students through critical enrollment steps, reviewing applications, and developing relationships and partnerships. Recruitment and engagement with a broad constituency that will include: middle school, high school and transfer student populations; families/parents of prospective students; high school and community college advisors and counselors; alumni; college access programs; and community based organizations. Based on recruitment team needs, this position may have to complete in-state recruitment travel.
This position will also facilitate memorable and effective visit experiences for prospective students, families and other guests. The person is responsible for the direct coordination of large Admissions events (on-campus, off-campus & virtually) including communications and reporting through Slate. The person in this position will also develop collaborative relationships with on-campus partners directly involved with admission event days, Academic Information Sessions, assess and evaluate events, and support recruitment/yield activities.
Job Duties
Freshmen and Transfer Territory Recruitment: Comprehensive and strategic management of an individually assigned recruitment territory in Colorado and out-of-state. (30%)

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.
This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.

In compliance with the Clery Act, the most recent University of Northern Colorado Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report is available online. A paper copy can be requested at the UNC Police Department. This report contains crime statistics and policy statements related to safety, conduct processes and Title IX investigations.
