The Bernard Group is looking for an enthusiastic Material Handler to join our team. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. You will be responsible for accurately transferring and tracking inventory of all raw materials and work-in-process (WIP) needed for various stages of production. This role is critical for TBG to maintain its efficient workflow processes and to reduce wait times for materials required to complete the client’s jobs. This position is responsible for ensuring that the necessary material or WIP inventory is available during the production and assembly processes, the system information is kept up to date as to the whereabouts of the material, and that the materials are set-up in a fashion to optimize the workflow. This position is also critical to removing scrap in the production area upon completion of a job to ensure the Machine Operators are working within a safe work environment as defined by OSHA and TBG’s standards.

Shifts available: Wednesday - Friday 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM 

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:

  • High school degree or GED with 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment
  • 2 years of receiving, stocking, or picking inventory for the staging in a production environment or packaging for outside customers a plus
  • Forklift and Reach truck a plus
  • the ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis

On top of that you must:

  • pay close attention to details to successfully move/ pull the correct product
  • have basic computer skills, including Pace and Google
  • be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
  • plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage your own work
  • have the ability to work independently, make decisions and solve moderate level problems independently, effectively and creatively
  • complete jobs accurately within deadlines, while meeting company quality standards
  • apply effective time management and self-management skills
  • understand and maintain the confidential nature of company, employee and customer information
  • flourish in a team-oriented environment
  • have a positive attitude always
  • can handle change what you are doing quickly and effectively
  • handle a fast-paced environment

In this position, you will:

  • receive, transfer, and track raw materials and work-in-process (WIP) from production areas and accurately track it into TBG’s systems regarding quantities received and transferred. Follow up with Warehouse Manager where the inventory count to be transferred is greater than the inventory quantities in the location noted in the system to resolve discrepancies.
  • move materials from the incoming area to appropriate staging lanes or shelves.
  • update systems with new counts and location.
  • assist in the disposition of inventory overages.
  • remove scrap from the production area in support of maintaining safety standards as defined by OSHA and TBG’s policies. 
  • complete other duties assigned by your manager.
