The Bank of Glen Burnie is Hiring a Head Teller Near Odenton, MD

Summary

The Head Teller reports to, the Branch Manager. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the teller line, and will assume the role of the immediate supervisor for the line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervises the teller staff and assists the Manager and Assistant Manager with overall branch processes.
  • Resolves problems and assist with difficult or complex transactions.
  • Ensures teller and daily work are completed promptly and correctly.
  • Coaches, mentors and leads tellers by example in adhering to all bank policies and procedures, demonstrating sound judgement within established limits.
  • Assists with scheduling.
  • Understanding and assists with adherence to Compliance and Security policies.
  • Is responsible for assisting with Vault and ATM management and settlement, and orders cash when appropriate.
  • Assists the staff with sales/cross selling, and works with them to be accountable for results to meet branch goals.
  • Promotes a positive work environment.
  • Is committed to delivering an outstanding Customer experience, and ensure the staff delivers the same level of service.
  • Assists with Staff performance reviews and new hire selection process.
  • Is able to perform all platform and new account opening duties.
  • Assists with Risk Rating accounts and all branch audits.
  • Is open to and not afraid to express new ideas or procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including professional grammar and demeanor.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent and one year Bank related operational support experience. Requires demonstrated CUSTOMER SERVICE abilities.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years teller experience and/or 2 years leadership/coaching/supervisory experience.

Computer Skills: Internet and computer proficient.

Mathematically Skills: Proficient

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Demands

Physical demand level – Medium: with lifting, bending, stooping, walking or standing for extended periods of time, some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a seven and one-half or ten-hour shift. Physical requirements also include the ability to see, hear, and do repetitive motion. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. during a seven and one-half hour or ten-hour shift. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
