Part-Time Kinder English Homeroom Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year
The Awty International School seeks a part-time Kindergarten English homeroom teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or equivalent in Preschool or Elementary Education or related field of education
  • Native-speaker proficiency in target instructional language (English)
  • At least five years of teaching experience in a preschool or early primary setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • International and independent school experience preferred
Bilingual (or highly proficient) in another language (French or Spanish)
  • Experience in an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) setting
APPLICANTS SHOULD:
  • Possess excellent teaching skills appropriate for children in an early childhood education setting
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of interactive methodologies and technology integration
  • Follow the School’s guidelines and curriculum
  • Include activities to develop cross-cultural understanding
  • Demonstrate professional strengths of gentleness, nurturing, respectfulness, consistency
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to childhood social, emotional and intellectual development within an international school setting
  • Maintaining an in-depth familiarity with the appropriate curricula and current teaching trends and developments
  • Have experience with a balanced literacy approach including phonics and pre-literacy skills
THE ROLE:
A teacher at the Awty International School is expected, but not limited to, the following expectations:
  1. Effectively teach the Kinder program, including undertaking appropriate lesson preparation and assessing and evaluating students as necessary
  2. Collaborate with other teachers on the grade level and within the school for instructional and operational purposes
  3. Attending and positively contributing to subject, faculty, grade and division meetings as scheduled by the Division Head and whole school meetings as appropriate
  4. Performing snack, lunch, recess and other teacher duties
  5. Contribute positively to school culture and climate including special projects and presentations, service learning, student event attendance, prospective parent meetings, and other school and parent meetings
