Teva Operations Manager About Teva and Adamah Teva, powered by Adamah, aims to inspire environmental awareness and activism and engage youth in Jewish culture and tradition. Since 1994, Teva has been developing the field of Jewish Enviromental Education. Our four-day Shomrei Adamah program provides transformational experiences in nature for Jewish day school students. Teva educators are sought as an asset in staffing work in the Jewish communal field, and are often inspired to careers in environmental, outdoor, farming, and Jewish communal leadership roles. Teva has served over 450 day-schools, congregations, camps, JCCs, youth groups, and other institutions spanning all Jewish denominations including secular and interfaith groups. Teva is hiring a full-time Operations Manager! As an integral member of the Teva Administrative Team, the Operations Manager ensures smooth programmatic and operational logistics, internal and external communication, and scheduling. The Operations Manager is the leader for a variety of core systems at Teva, including student registration and forms, school contracts and billing, and coordinating in-season operations including housing, food service with the Pearlstone Campus and Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center staff. The Operations Manager reports to the Teva Director, works closely with other departments within Adamah, and is a core member of the Teva leadership team. This position is onsite during programmatic seasons (long Fall, short Spring), and could be remote for 6 months of the year. Job Summary: Oversee school contracts and scheduling, school and family communications, participant forms, and billing. Must maintain a professional demeanor. Manage program finances, including budgeting, tracking spending, and buying, ordering, and restocking materials. Manage databases and keep all files and folders, including archives, organized and updated. Coordinate program set-up, food service, housekeeping, and lodging with relevant staff at the Pearlstone Campus and Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. You are not supervising the kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance; you are the lead in interfacing with the managers of those departments. Coordinate housing logistics on a campus with over a dozen housing options, in collaboration with the Registrar and Hospitality department. Communicate key dietary information with culinary department promptly and advocate for participant needs and request. Synthesize participant form information and distribute it to the relevant department. Partner with Teva Director to oversee the Teva Educator Fellowship. Manage staff forms and paperwork. Set schedules, track hours, and coordinate with HR. Manage programmatic preparation of the site for the week, manage systems to ensure the success of the programming materials set-up and take-down, and cleaning after the program week. Ensure all safety plans and emergency procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with best practices and all legal requirements. Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service. Must be able to adapt to changing situations. Other tasks/duties as assigned. Helpful prior skills and experience include: Experience working with Jewish communities and institutions and school aged children. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Strong administration and Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft SharePoint, and Salesforce experience. Ability to multitask and hold multiple projects at once. Self-starter, ability to self-motivate and work on solo projects as needed. Strong attention to detail as well as ability to hold a big-picture view. Commitment to deadlines and task completion. Working Conditions: This is a non-exempt position with work hours set to Sunday through Thursday during the Teva season, but Monday through Friday during the off season, with the ability to work from home for 6 months of the year. There will be housing available year-round at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. Expectations and responsibilities fluctuate during the year with periods of high and low workload. This job description does not state or imply that the above are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to the position. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by Management. All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability. 90 Day Check In: Ninety days from the date of employment date, there will be a check in between you and your supervisor. Annually thereafter. Frequently cited statistics show that women and underrepresented groups apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the criteria. Adamah encourages you to break that statistic and apply. Adamah is strongly committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals. We especially encourage people of color, women and nonbinary folks, LGBTQ people, disabled people, working class and low-income people, and those with other marginalized identities to apply. Adamah is strongly committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals. Adamah will make all employment decisions for staff and applicants without unlawful discrimination as to race, creed, color, national origin, gender identity and expression, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, alienage, citizenship or any other basis protected by law. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including but not limited to recruiting, hiring, compensation, training and development, benefits, promotion, demotion transfer, discipline or termination.
