What You’ll Do

You'll
be the friendly point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring the seamless and precise processing of payroll, and delivering white-glove experiences to AFC employees.
As the go-to person,
you'll
assist
with questions on a variety of leaves and benefits, including Worker’s Compensation, Temporary Disability Insurance, Family Medical Leave, Hawaii Family Medical Leave, Disability Leave, Military Leave, Vacation, and Sick Leave.

Responsibilities

Payroll

Serves as the Pay Master for the Arcadia Family of Companies, ensuring
timely
and
accurate
processing of payroll and related accounting functions and
assisting
  • employees and managers with troubleshooting and resolving any payroll related issues.
  • Ensures
    timely
  • processing of annual W2 Forms for all staff.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding and solid working knowledge of all aspects of payroll processing, including federal and state policies,
    regulation
  • and compliance.
  • Responsible for coordination of efforts between payroll, HR,
    finance
  • and other stakeholders to ensure proper payroll processing.
  • Responsible for the administration of the AFC’s payroll and timekeeping modules.
  • Provide input, analysis and recommendations for process improvement related to HR and Payroll functions.
  • Assist
  • with responding to internal and external audit inquiries and data requests.
  • Assists
  • with the monitoring of employment compensation and benefits activities affecting operations.
  • Reconciles, audits, processes, personnel and beneficiary change and enrollment forms, new hire data entry, billings, contributions, and records to ensure
    accurate
  • benefit enrollment and compensation and benefit processing.
  • Works in collaboration with managers and staff on benefits, compensation, policies and procedures, and HR compliance.

Leave Administration

  • Serves as the primary case manager for leave administration, workers compensation case management, unemployment claims and billings, and related programs and services.
  • Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
  • Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Facilitates requests for accommodations and maintains compliance with the ADA.
  • Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
  • Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintains complete and ac curate r ecords of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with s pecified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, HFFL, WC, ADA, and state and local laws.
  • Compiles and submits relevant reports to the CHRO including analysis, trends, and recommendations.

  • Cross train with HR colleagues and provide basic support and guidance on HR matters including benefits, compensation,
    policies
  • and procedures, recruiting, training and development, and performance management.
  • Position includes
    commuting
  • between office locations.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficiency
in Workforce Now, Enterprise
eTime
, and related ADP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
