Description:
The role of the Day Transportation Driver is to safely transport people with disabilities in a mini-bus which accommodates 15 persons or less. The driver will transport people supported to and from day programs, outings, etc. This position will assist people with disabilities in a variety of settings to live/work as independently as possible, to reach their goals to develop skills and to provide personal support when required. This position:
Is part time
Offers the following general work schedule: M-F 7:00am - 9:30am & 2:00pm - 4:30pm, for 25 hours per week
Has a pay rate of $16.50 per hour
Requirements:
This entry-level position requires no experience, although one year supporting people with developmental disabilities or a similar population preferred. In addition, we will consider anyone who:
Has a high school diploma or GED
Is 21 years of age or older
Possesses a valid driver's license with three (3) years of driving experience and a good driving record.
Is able to attend our new hire training M-F 8:30AM - 5:00PM for the first two weeks of employment
Is physically fit in order to lift and transfer at least 50 pounds
Can provide direct care and implement proper restraint techniques to ensure the health and safety of the persons served
The successful candidate will also need to pass a background check and pre-employment screenings to include a drug screen and a DOT physical. This position requires lifting, transferring, and the ability to implement positive behavioral strategies, including proper restraint techniques to ensure the safety of people supported.
