The Maintenance Helper is responsible for the general routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the homes and buildings operated by the agency, other areas as directed, and must respond to emergencies and routine calls in a timely manner. This position works under the supervision of the Property Manager. Must have basic knowledge in the use of hand tools and electric tools. Must attend a credited trade school in order to advance to the position of Maintenance Mechanic or higher. Must have good communication skills to communicate with administration and program staff, individuals supported, and visitors. Must follow all agency policies, have a valid driver's license and good driving record, be able to lift at least 75 lbs. Requires a willingness to learn, must have a strong interest in pursuing education in the construction trades.
