The Animal Clinic of Galveston is the oldest privately owned practice on the island and still going strong. Founded in 1936, this small animal practice has garnered a reputation (in Galveston) as the place to bring your animals for the best care available.

Located on beautiful Galveston Island, The Animal Clinic has an un-obscured view of the beach and Gulf of Mexico. Galveston itself offers many activities and places to explore in your free time, such as Moody Gardens, the Pleasure Pier, historic downtown, there is fishing, hiking and swimming. Lots of fun annual events, Art Walk, Mardi Gras, Lone Star Rally, Dickens on the Strand, just to name a few!

Our knowledgeable veterinary team are compassionate caretakers of dogs, cats, exotics, small farm animals, reptiles, birds and local wildlife. We are passionate about what we do here, the care of our patients is our priority! We are the only clinic on the island that offers emergency services during open hours and a separate “Cat Friendly Practice” right next door.

Our team’s mission is to provide personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care for our patients. Additionally, we work closely with the Galveston Island Humane Society and local Animal Control for the health and well-being of animals in need. We pride ourselves in the community service we provide.

A team-oriented approach to veterinary medicine is something we truly value. Being on an island, you will see a variety of cases both surgical and medical, and because specialists are not always an option due to location or patient finances. We often collaborate on cases, (from time to time some more difficult than others), and mentorship is important as well; all of this will help you to expand your experience and continue your growth as a veterinarian. The goal is to always want to improve your skills to care for the animals in need.
