The Agency Recruiting is Hiring an Energy Regulatory Associate Near Washington, DC

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Regulatory Lawyer to join one of our esteemed legal clients. As an Energy Regulatory Lawyer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with energy regulations and advocating for our company's interests in regulatory proceedings. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of regulatory matters pertaining to the energy industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on energy regulatory issues at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on compliance with energy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, hearings, and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy industry and assess potential impact on the company.
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team and cross-functional teams to address regulatory issues and achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
  • 3 years of experience practicing energy law with a focus on regulatory matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to FERC, NERC, state utility commissions, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and problem-solving skills.
