The AEgis Technologies Group is Hiring a Senior Engineering Manager, Directed Energy Near Albuquerque, NM

Responsibilities:

JOB DESCRIPTION

ATA, BlueHalo is expanding and growing its Directed Energy (DE) capability. The Senior Engineering Manager will have the opportunity to be a focal point in leading, shaping, and growing one of the industrys most experienced and high performing DE teams to meet a growing list of critical customer missions. Working closely with the Campaign Director, the critical function of this role is to grow the capability of ATA Blue Halos Directed Energy group through staffing and structuring it aligned to current and future customer needs.

In concert with the Program Management Office, Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead an end-to-end recruiting and staffing campaign to build a high-performing team in the technically challenging DE industry
  • Work closely with the Campaign Director to align staffing with campaign priorities and emerging customer mission needs and requirements
  • Oversee planning and construction of Blue Halos new DE production facilities to ensure sufficient capability for current and future mission needs
  • Lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams through development, production, and fielding across multiple programs
  • Present to customers (both internal and external) in key technical or functional areas in high-leverage situations
  • Develop and implement engineering tools & processes to maximize productivity, design rigor and reduce escapes
  • Capture and track staffing projections and campaign / workgroup action items

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are nominally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • >10 years of engineering, or functional management professional experience
  • Experience with recruiting, hiring, and building engineering groups
  • Experience with product configuration control, and Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) processes
  • Experience managing or leading high-performing technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar Program Management tool systems
  • Candidate Must be a US Citizen eligible and able to maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Understanding of and experience with Directed Energy Technology
  • Experience leading transition to production of updated design due to obsolescence and tech insertion
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues with cross-functional partners, i.e. Operations, Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated understanding of production processes
  • Experience in the Defense or Aerospace industry
  • Proposal capture experience
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and execution for both short-term requirements and long-term opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active participation of appropriate individuals across the business
  • Strong team player with ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Experience supporting programs and executing responsibilities in an Agile environment
