The Action Center is Hiring a Program Services Manager Near Lakewood, CO

Description

 This position holds the primary responsibility of leading and managing the programs and services that fall under the Action Center’s Stabilization and Supportive Services. This position will provide oversight of the daily operations, supervise staff, and grow the program offerings based on community needs and available resources. This includes all financial assistance programs, the housing program, our family coaching program, and partnerships/collaborations with community resource partners.

Additionally, this position is responsible for the management and implementation of assigned special programming events throughout the year. 

This position reports directly to the Action Center’s Director of Programs.

Requirements

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, planning, direction, and day-to-day supervision of the Stabilization Services and Supportive Services offered to deliver effective and meaningful assistance for community members seeking a deeper level of service beyond meeting their immediate needs for food and clothing.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the continued growth of housing stabilization and homelessness prevention programs within the department (this includes rent assistance, housing navigation, and housing case management)
  • Provide guidance, reflective supervision, and leadership to the continued growth of the family coaching work – supporting the team that is working with families to set goals and work towards increasing self-reliance.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Programs to ensure work across all areas of the agency is collaborative, strategic, and responsive to community needs.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Programs to create and manage the annual department budget and regularly review department expenditures to ensure alignment with the budget. 
  • Assist Grants Officer with grant reporting and documentation; provide oversight of expenditures of restricted funds. 
  • Work closely with other Program Services Managers to ensure smooth pathways between other service areas.
  • Effectively select, manage, coach, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff to foster a caring, fully engaged team and ensure robust services.
  • Ensure data is collected and recorded properly and ensure all database users are trained and knowledgeable in the data system.
  • Be part of the team that responds to immediate crises, working directly with community members as the situation warrants.
  • Provide leadership, planning, and direction to staff and volunteers on all aspects of assigned special events to augment normally provided services.
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Manager on training and supporting program area volunteers.
  • Coordinate internship programs with local graduate and undergraduate programs and provide supervision to interns.
  • Maintain and oversee daily records and program documentation 
  • Cultivate community resource partnerships as needed based on community need
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other departments, human services providers, donors, and community, and represent the agency with county and other non-profits in human services collaborations 
  • Attend and participate in agency events as needed
  • Ensure assigned staff (and volunteers) are trained on program area safety and risk management procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Master of Social Work required.
  • At least two years of work experience directly related to this role – working with high need population, experience in direct service work.
  • At least one year of program or people management is required. Volunteer management is a plus
  • Proven experience in program development 
  • Excellent organizational, crisis management, de-escalation, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to successfully manage details and think strategically
  • Experience working through a trauma-informed lens and tuning in to social justice and equity issues 
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to assess situations, identify causes, generate solutions, and make constructive recommendations 
  • Ability to exercise initiative, relate well with others, and build collaborations
  • Excellent computer skills including experience using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and databases
  • Being bilingual in Spanish is a plus

SUPERVISORY

This position is responsible for supervising 6-7 employees: leadership responsibilities include providing support for rental assistance, program services, and navigation direct reports. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work involves normal physical activity associated with an office environment and the position may occasionally support the grocery and clothing bank which requires moderate lifting, long hours standing, and/or walking. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment however, meeting participants in the community may be part of the assistance provided and may occasionally support the grocery and clothing bank within the Program Services Building. Some evenings and weekends may be required depending on participant needs and schedules.
