Operations Engineering Intern:
Job Responsibilities:

• Learn operational procedures and practices for numerous chemical processes
• Identify new practices in manufacturing procedures to increase safety and efficiency.
• Work closely with facility managers, operators, and engineers to understand safety and quality practices.
• Create professional documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, Piping and Instrumentation
• Diagrams, etc.) that define company manufacturing procedures and equipment. Assist in chemical plant operations, as needed, by Plant and Area Manager. 
• Support Process Improvement and Engineering Teams on development projects throughout the plan.

Job Duties and Activities:

• Help write/update Standard Operating Procedures
• Help create training documentation for Standard Operating Procedures
• Help create other helpful Standard Operating Procedure forms including Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.
• Help label equipment, piping, etc.
• Research, calculate, and create documentation/presentation on pre-determined process improvement project
• Research, calculate, and create documentation/presentation on area-specific process improvement project

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Basic chemical engineering knowledge (temperature, pressure, flow and their affects) 
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite and basic technical writing skills
• Moving around the chemical plant a lot, sit in chair parts of the day, standing on feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Working towards Bachelor Degree in a STEM field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Intermediate knowledge of:

• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Technical Writing
• Chemical Processes, Equipment, and Materials (specific to their area)
• Basic knowledge of M3 navigation
• Good presentation and communication skills
• 2 years experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
