Position: Surgery Manager - Austin, TX

• Salary Range: $90k - $130k

We are seeking a dedicated Surgery Manager to oversee our PACU, Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Valve Clinic areas. Job Summary - duties and responsibilities . : As a Surgery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PACU and Surgery departments. Your role includes:

• Staffing Oversight: Plan, direct, and control staffing assignments to ensure effective coverage. Maintain productivity targets, review daily performance, and make staffing recommendations to meet benchmarks.
• Team Leadership: Lead and support a team of nursing professionals. Interview, hire, promote, transfer, and terminate staff. Provide counseling and progressive discipline when necessary.
• Operational Excellence: Manage schedules, including call rotations, and ensure adequate staffing levels. Participate in meetings, oversee performance appraisals, and maintain attendance records.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, physicians, and other departments. Attend hospital staff/educational meetings and assist in budget preparation.

Qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Registered Nurse license
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• 5 years of experience in appropriate areas of expertise
• 2 years in a supervisory/charge nurse position in Surgery/Day Surgery

Additional Details:

• Oversight of PACU (including pre-op), surgery, sterile processing & valve clinic
• Full-time position with no weekends
• 45 FTE, 58 bed facility, 6 OR/3 hybrid ORs, 5 PACU bays, 4 pre-op beds
• Over 900 open heart surgeries in 2021
• Salary Range: $90k - $130k
• Relocation eligible
