Concrete Maintenance Description:

Texas Maintenance Development (TMD) is a 24-hour commercial and industrial maintenance company. We are looking for all knowledgeable and skilled Concrete Maintenance Technician to undertake various repair and maintenance tasks. Your role will be essential in ensuring that all facilities are in good condition by addressing any repair and maintenance issues that may arise. You will be responsible for completing all tasks in a professional and timely manner while adhering to safety procedures.

Main Responsibilities

• Interpreting blueprints and reading survey stakes to establish appropriate grades
• Ensuring that worksites are prepared for concrete footings and concrete forms are assembled in certain locations
• Loading and unloading materials, supplies, and work tools to and from trucks and the construction site
• Ensuring that objects or equipment is in the appropriate place where they are needed
• Breaking up or digging out old concrete before pouring new concrete
• Directing mixing truck drivers as to where to be positioned
• Ensuring safety by cleaning up the work environment and wearing the appropriate safety gear
• Restoring or waterproofing existing concrete structures with the use of appropriate compounds and sealants.

· weigh and mix concrete materials (gravel, sand, cement and water)

· sample and test the mix

· prepare boxing (formwork) and/or lay reinforcing

· pour, spread, compact, smooth and polish concrete, by hand or machine

• drive heavy vehicles such as concrete trucks.
• Follow safety procedures and always maintain a safe efficient work environment.
• Manage inventory of repair supplies and equipment and ensure that all stocks are replenished as needed.
• Use the TMD document system, Cost, to maintain accurate daily records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections carried out.

Specialized concrete workers: paving, bricklaying, install items such as anchor bolts into concrete, spray concrete on areas such as retaining walls, water features andcut concrete using power cutters.

Requirements- Skills/Knowledge:

• Proven experience as a concrete maintenance worker or in a similar role
• knowledge of concrete types and different ways of using them
• knowledge of concrete-setting times
• knowledge of how to lay and finish concrete and operate the machines that are involved
• basic carpentry skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with clients and other staff professionally
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while adhering to set timelines and standards
• General maintenance skills and knowledge of construction techniques
• Ability to work flexibly and adjust schedules to meet the needs of the clients
• Physical dexterity and ability to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification

Requirements- Commercial/Industrial Tools:

· Screed machine: to smooth out a concrete surface when it’s still wet.

· Wheelbarrow: to transport concrete and other materials.

· Portable mixer: to mix concrete on site.

· Float: to level and smooth the concrete surface after screeding.

· Vapor barrier: to prevent moisture from penetrating the concrete slab.

· Groove cutter and edger: to create joints and edges in the concrete.

· Plate compactor: to compact the sub-base and the concrete.

· Power hammer and drill: to fasten and drill into the concrete.

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)

Schedule- 24 hour, 365 days:

· Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (typically)

· Monday – Friday 5pm – 11p (occasionally)

· Monday – Friday 11pm – 8am (rarely)

· Saturday at any time (occasionally)

· Sunday at any time (rarely)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
