As Texas Capital Bank undergoes critical project implementation and service delivery, the Credit Business Systems Analyst will exhibit competence in project delivery while maintaining a “can do, whatever it takes” attitude working closely with Business and IT teams. Help our team of high performing banking professionals expand our capabilities in these key areas: customer pipeline, credit origination/underwriting, loan/lease servicing, enterprise data/reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate business analysis best practices:
    • Review project initiation documents, artifacts, and high-level scope to gain an understanding of the underlying business need and timeline for projects
    • Ensure adherence to published project management and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, resulting in consistent development and implementation of project components
    • Apply consultative approach to functional and operational procedural planning and design
    • Schedule and facilitate meetings with business owners & SMEs, record & distribute detailed meeting minutes, transform minutes into actionable deliverables (BRD, user stories, process flows, etc.)
    • Lead analysis activities for assigned solution set
    • Document detailed, succinct requirements and drive those into or out of project scope by creating user stores, epics, and features in a structured hierarchy & maintain the project backlog
    • Become a systems expert & support projects throughout the lifecycle
  • Demonstrate business systems analysis / data analysis best practices:
    • Lead design workshops eliciting technical requirements
    • Document data flow requirements and ETL logic needed to accomplish inter-system data sharing, reporting, or dashboarding
    • Create technical documentation, including: Requirements Specifications (Software, Interface, Middleware), Technical Design Documentation, Source to Target Mappings, multi-level Data Flow Documents, and other requirements-related artifacts for user stories
    • Adapt technical designs to the functional requirements and business use cases captured in user stories, features, and epics surrounding the project
    • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
    • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations
  • Actively liaise between business and technical teams with varying business and technical skill sets – both internal and external (contactor or vendor) – to achieve goals
  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end test cases and execute testing at the application, data, and interface levels
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc root cause analysis to investigate ongoing or one-time issues
  • Monitor, measure, and provide feedback on system performance relative to the business process
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved system requirements, or revising procedures
  • Develop or contribute to deployment runbooks and operationalize the go-live and transition to maintenance plans
  • Operate in an agile environment with scrum teams actively managing a backlog
  • Utilize industry standard project management, work management, and reporting software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or MIS preferred
  • Commercial banking experience, formal credit training, and understanding of credit processes preferred
  • 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst across one or more of the following project types: Software Integration, Business Process Reengineering, Strategy Transformation, Data and Reporting, Interfaces and Middleware using waterfall and agile methodologies
  • 5 years of experience writing functional and technical requirements documents, user stories, and managing backlogs
  • 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst focusing on system administration
  • 3 years of experience authoring reports utilizing strong data interpretation, visualization, and presentation skills. SQL experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in the use of broader MS Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, Visual Studio)
  • Affinity for technology and ability to effectively communicate with business and technology teams
  • Exceptional relationship and consensus building skills with all levels of leadership
  • Demonstrated experience multi-tasking on concurrent large, complex projects and initiatives
  • Proven ability to effectively work in cross-functional project teams. Also, proven history as a self-starter who can work independently
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills alongside strong data interpretation and visualization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
