The Energy Investment Banking Engineering Technician role involves executing reserve database queries, quality control of data input, troubleshooting database errors, updating financial models, preparing presentations, analyzing data, and supporting investment banking with due diligence and valuation assumptions. The focus is on technical engineering tasks, with potential for increased investment banking responsibilities as skills and experience grow. Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Math, Science, Physics) is highly preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience as an oil and gas reservoir engineering technician or other engineering discipline Highly proficient in PHDWin and ARIES applications with at least 2 years of experience Proficient in MS Office suite and other oil & gas engineering applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, VBA, and SQL Basic knowledge of IHS and Enerdeq and state regulatory websites to pull well production High preference for experience in oil & gas acquisitions, finance, or similar valuation disciplines Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment Extremely skilled in managing and analyzing large amounts of data with accuracy Ability to present complex projects, analysis and concepts concisely Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects concurrently Proven ability to work under pressure, organize, manage, prioritize, and execute on multiple deliverables Strong mathematical aptitude Provide accurate and timely input data with minimal supervision Position Responsibilities: Execute and modify reserve database queries in Aries and PHDWin Quality control of data and input into economic software Troubleshoot and resolve database errors Update financial models with database outputs Assist in streamlining processes Update slides with proper graphs Gather and update production data from multiple sources Assist in data preparation for acquisition opportunities Prepare presentations and reports Analyze client and public data Run scenarios efficiently Utilize data analytics for evaluation Develop tools for process streamlining Support due diligence on third-party data rooms Willingness to take on increasing investment banking transaction related responsibilities The duties listed above are the essential functions, or fundamental duties within the job classification.
