The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for conducting research in the Laganowsky laboratory to better understand how lipids modulate the structure and function of membrane proteins. The candidate will be use advanced ion mobility mass spectrometry technology for studying intact protein complexes to accelerate biological and drug discoveries, and therapeutic development through leading edge research and development and analysis. These studies will be complemented with structural studies using X-ray crystallography/cryoEM and in conjunction with standard biochemical approaches.The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also express and purify proteins using a variety of expression systems, ranging from bacteria, insect cells, to HEK293. The scientist will assist the Principle Investigator by organizing and conducting cutting-edge experiments to investigate membrane protein lipid interactions on the molecular level.
