Job Description
Position: The Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. The successful candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and be qualified to offer courses and conduct research in the field of geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, or construction management. The appointment is at the assistant professor rank. Professional licensure, or the ability to become licensed, is desirable.
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate classes and develop a strong externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise. Experience teaching online courses is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to advise undergraduate students, mentor masters and doctoral students, and engage in meaningful service to the department, university, and profession. The successful applicant must be committed to serving historically under-represented populations.

About the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering: The Department serves approximately 300 students. The Department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering, as well as a B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering. Both undergraduate programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. Both civil engineering degrees cover the technical areas of geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering. The architectural engineering degree covers building electrical and mechanical systems, structural engineering, and construction management, with an introduction to basic principles of architecture.
