Job Overview

The objective of the Maintenance Shift Supervisor’s Position is to provide Leadership to the Crafts for the safe, efficient execution of maintenance activities, taking ownership and accountability for results within their assigned areas. This is done through leading by example, ensuring employees are properly trained, holding themselves and others accountable, meeting established metrics and maximizing efficiency throughout the manufacturing facility.

ResponsibilitiesandDuties

• Lead the charge for ensuring all employees, customers, and visitors understand the importance of 100% safety compliance and maintaining an injury free workplace.
• Utilize the Reliability Tools and Processes to improve the plant equipment reliability.
• Lead the maintenance forces in rapidly responding to unplanned interruptions or breakdown situations
• Identify wastes that will reduce total costs and improve equipment reliability.
• Learn and understand the function and operation of equipment in your assigned area.
• Provide technical expertise to the department on equipment capabilities and functionality.
• Understand precision maintenance requirements to not jeopardize Quality of product as a result of maintenance actions.
• Ensure documented procedures are utilized where appropriate and followed correctly.
• Ability to succeed in a metrics driven environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
• Able to work flexible hours as required.
• Associate’s Degree with 4 years of maintenance experience or 8 years maintenance experience required, preferably in aluminum manufacturing.
• Four years’ experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role required.

Preferred Skills

• Molten metal (melting, casting) or Rolling Mill maintenance experience preferred.
• Electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic experience preferred/desired
