Tex-Trude is one of the leading plastic manufacturers in Texas. We are located in the Channelview area and have been in business since 1952. The ideal candidate would be a custodian who is careful and thorough in their work, cleaning and tidying the premises with great care and an eye for detail. Works as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to ensure standards are maintained such as storm water control and maintaining silos.

Position Summary:

• Ensures cleaning tasks assigned by supervisor are carried out in a timely fashion
• Utilizes proper training to clean up potentially hazardous materials or contact the appropriate authorities to handle such incidents
• Organizes cleaning items, disinfectants and other materials kept in storage, as well as cleaning equipment
• Requires repetitive and physically demanding tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling and standing for long periods of time
• Uses proper signage to communicate company information
• Regularly empties trash and recycling in designated areas
• Follows cleaning routine and schedule as set by supervisor including inside/outside facility housekeeping
• Works on special projects as assigned such as painting and using hand and power tools
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proven working experience as a Custodian is preferred
• Prior experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment a plus
• Safety oriented
• Attention to detail
• Works with little or no supervision
• Must be able to tolerate seasonally hot and cold working environment
• Ability to work within a team environment. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
