Tesla is seeking an amazing Test Engineer to facilitate integration of in house developed automated manufacturing systems used for worldwide production of vehicle, cell and energy products. As a member of our team, you will ensure the products developed by the manufacturing test team meet our world class expectations and ensure success of the overall project. Additional responsibilities include supporting equipment, debugging tasks, and continuous improvement of legacy test and automation equipment. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world's energy infrastructure, and thrive working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Uptime (HW reliability, software faults, maintenance schedules, etc.), and cycle time improvement on production test equipment
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, and maintenance engineering to ensure Manufacturing Test products are meeting and exceeding expectations, and, if not, understand the shortcomings
• Perform preemptive data analysis and voice of the customer (VOC) discussions to understand challenges with manufacturing test equipment post deployment, and advocate for solutions that align with both Manufacturing Test and production's goals
• Understand the engineering first principles of Manufacturing Test equipment and have a systems level grasp of operations so you can be one of the key points of contact for manufacturing test design team and site operations
• Build and validate test equipment, then deploy to the production line while verifying tester documentation to ensure a seamless handoff to production

• Exposure to a wide variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, data acquisition, safety, and I/O devices (ie, pogo-pins, pressure transducers, temperature controllers, current and power meters, PLCs, etc)
• Electrical engineering fundamentals
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Ability to read and understand code (LabVIEW, Python, Golang, C, C )
• High-volume manufacturing environment experience
• Effective at summarizing/presenting data in a manner that is easily digestible to various technical and non-technical audiences
• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
