What to Expect

The Employee Relations Partner conducts investigations intoemployee relations concerns and supports overall positive workforce engagement.This position is both hands-on and strategic and requires a high degree ofcollaboration to provide investigative and employee relations expertise. Thisis a full-time onsite position and can be based in Fremont, CA; Austin, TX;Reno, NV or Buffalo, NY.

What You'll Do
  • Independently conduct unbiased investigations, determinefindings, and prepare all required documentation. This includes but is notlimited to preparing a clear and concise report summarizing findings of theinvestigation as well as maintaining case management/tracking tools
  • Conduct in-person, web-based and phone-based witnessinterviews. Analyze information collected from witnesses and evidence and reachtimely and well-reasoned conclusions. This includes effectively assessingwitness credibility and fostering effective communication with all individualsinvolved in the investigative process
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all issues, andconduct investigations in an unbiased manner
  • Identify relevant investigation issues, potential evidenceand investigative actions and identify and partner with other teams asappropriate to ensure follow-up on employee concerns. Maintain consistentinteractions with leaders, partners, and employees to help navigate new orcritical situations that require ER expertise spontaneously
  • Analyze employee relations trends with Leadership and helpdevelop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and practices thatdemonstrate a robust understanding of Tesla's business objectives and dynamics
  • Train, coach and mentor colleagues who perform HRinvestigations
  • Participate in projects led by the Employee and LaborRelations team as needed
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 5 years of experience withworkplace investigations ( experience investigating allegations of harassment,discrimination and retaliation); Master's Degree/JD preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, whichgovern employment policies and practices
  • Thorough understanding and application of workplaceinvestigations best practices and standards, including conducting neutralfact-finding interviews, navigating key partnerships, credibility assessments,and maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across alllevels of the organization
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills,attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced,time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to objectively communicate with employees andmanagement through complex, difficult, and emotional issues. Outstandingwritten and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated through familiarity withinternal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards
