Tesla Motors is Hiring an Engineering Technician, Dojo Near Palo Alto, CA
The Role We are looking for Engineering Technicians to join our Dojo Supercomputer team. Engineering Technicians will have a blend of hands-on builds and responsibilities around analysis, testing, and documentation. Projects are open ended and often with limited up front guidance. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in low and high voltage electrical systems, power electronics, and thermal components. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Responsibilities
Assembly and testing of Dojo Supercomputer components
Read process description instructions and execute accordingly
Building various test jigs and assemblies for electrical and mechanical validation of wire harnesses and components
Providing clear, accurate timely information feedback to engineers on any problems found during testing and trial builds
Supporting bench-top electrical system builds and testing, including obtaining and tracking LV components from other Tesla groups as well as 3rd party vendors
Track record of using hand tools to perform basic shop operations
A wide variety of other technician tasks, supporting the engineering team as needed
Requirements
Proven technical experience through past positions held, industry experience, academics/passion projects
Genuine curiosity to figure out why something does not work and demonstrated experience in debugging and troubleshooting technical problems
Able to read electrical schematics and harness drawings and create a harness from scratch
Able to use multi-meters, soldering iron, wire crimping tools, hand tools for extracting pins from connectors
Able and willing to lift 50lbs
MS Office, J code, Matlab/Python a plus

Expected Compensation $24.40 - $65.40/hour cash and stock awards benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
