What to Expect
Tesla's Battery Electronics (BE) team is hiring an Engineering technician to support design, validation, and long-term reliability of our state-of-the-art High-Voltage-Controller (HVC) PCBs for Tesla's lineup of automotive and energy products. These PCBs perform safety management, battery management & charge control functions that are critical to the operation of the overall high voltage system. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting, so being passionate and self-motivated to push your limits is critical. Our team works with engineering groups across various disciplines, requiring strong communication skills and a team-first mentality. You will work alongside seasoned industry experts, high aptitude recent graduates, and people from every stage in between. We look for anyone with an exceptional ability to solve problems in both individual and team settings.
What You'll Do
    • Perform non-destructive failure analysis on PCBAs
    • Determine root cause of failing PCBAs using specialized equipment
    • Analyze CAN logs and vehicle history to narrow down failures
    • Clearly document test procedures and findings and present to engineers
    • Follow and edit standard operating procedures
    • Organize and track shipment of PCBAs from across the world
What You'll Bring
  • High awareness of safety hazards, procedures, and best practices
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with benchtop electronics equipment: DMM, Oscilloscope, Voltage Supplies
  • Ability to learn new test procedures and software
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Eager to learn, independently motivated, and proactive

Pluses

  • 2 years' experience in a lab/shop setting
  • Experience working with High Voltage
  • Experience with Failure Analysis

Expected Compensation

$24.40 - $65.40/hour cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
