Tesla Motors is Hiring a Construction Manager, Supercharger Near San Bernardino, CA
The Role We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the Supercharger Construction team. As Supercharger Construction Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction and implementation of Tesla Supercharging infrastructure projects. This person must have a strong understanding of project management, with accreditation in Design or Engineering, general or electrical contractor experience as a bonus. The role demands innovation, agility and quick thinking, and excellent leadership skills to ensure the successful deployment of our ever evolving and innovative charging solutions. The ideal candidate demonstrates a bias to action, logical problem solving, and mastery of a project's tactical details. Finally, they bring high energy and an optimistic approach to fully completing projects in a swift and quality manner. Responsibilities
Build the most world-class Supercharger sites in the shortest amount of time on or below budget
Oversee General Contractors and sub-trades to ensure that work is carried out efficiently, adhering to timelines, guidelines, designs, and safety standards
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards
Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective and innovative solutions without compromising on quality or safety
Conduct on-site inspections to verify the installations meet Tesla standards and the A&E's specifications
Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to provide feedback on design, site buildability and site location
Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions to problems in Construction
Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services required for construction
Proactively identify and address construction challenges, potential delays, and issues to maintain project schedules and deliverables
Expedite project close-out requirements including municipal sign offs, as-built drawings, final project photos, etc
Ensure all internal and external stakeholders are aligned on key dates and escalate when necessary
Provide related feedback to the design, development, and engineering team on equipment and site design for better/faster/more affordable site builds and implement improvements
Coordinate the timely processing and approvals of all shop drawings to and from subcontractors and architects/engineers
Coordinate with Contractors to timely process change requests and change orders
Track the manufacturing of long lead time materials and ensure a timely delivery to the job sites
Distribute drawing and design revisions, bulletins, etc. to contractors and any other applicable parties
Communicate effectively, both orally and written. Prepare weekly construction reports with photos, schedule, etc
Maintain a high level of productivity
Balance many concurrent tasks

Requirements
Ability to travel to various project locations as needed (50-60%), often on short notice
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related subject
4-6 years of project management or field construction management experience, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
Ability to manage multiple active construction projects simultaneously
Thorough understanding of construction administration processes, including contracts, budgets, construction documents, change orders, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and material procurement
Advanced knowledge of construction means and methods
Strong understanding of AC and DC power, transformers, circuit protection, single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams, and construction drawings
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing construction teams and coordinating subcontractors
Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and with budget
Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards related to civil and electrical construction
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Technical proficiency: capable of collaboratively using digital tools and software
Passion for sustainable transportation and contributing to a cleaner future is a bonus
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record

Expected Compensation $79,200 - $270,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
