Job Description

We are seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) with a passion for community health and wellness to join our team at the Tesio Mini Health Fairs (4-6 hours). The ideal candidate will have experience in venipuncture blood draws, patient education, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture blood draws following the provided checklist, including verifying provider's orders, reviewing patient records, and gathering necessary supplies.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during blood draws and other procedures, including monitoring for adverse reactions and providing appropriate care.
  • Provide health education, medication review, healthcare coordination, and specialist referrals as needed.
  • Participate in pre-event planning and staff training, including cultural sensitivity, mental health awareness, and data security.
  • Assist in event operations, including traffic flow management, sanitation, screening, and assessments.
  • Follow comprehensive health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and efficient event for participants and staff.
  • Document all SOAP notes, procedures, assessments, and patient interactions accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

  • Current LVN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven experience in phlebotomy with a strong understanding of venipuncture techniques and patient identification methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR certification and knowledge of blood pressure comprehension, including the identification and treatment of hypotensive and hypertensive conditions.
  • Familiarity with comprehensive lab collections and testing, including non-dot urine, nasal/mouth and hair collections.
  • Commitment to non-smoking and adherence to Tesio Health policies regarding workplace conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multilingual abilities to accommodate diverse communities.
  • Experience in community health, public health fairs, or similar settings.
  • Certification in phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training in blood draw techniques.
