Tesco Controls' core business is designing and building process control systems and power solutions for municipalities and industrial clients to keep critical infrastructure operating efficiently. As a full-service Systems Integrator and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), we design, engineer, manufacture, program, and integrate electrical, power, and process control systems for water/wastewater, transportation, power, and renewable energy facilities. We help clients optimize operations, increase overall efficiency, and reduce operating costs. (Ranked top 10 by System Integrator Giants List 2021). We employ experts in every control discipline. TESCO's unique ability to manufacture custom solutions and design and commission equipment, power and control systems provides clients with well-designed systems that work as intended.

The selected candidate will assist in the design and execution of Engineering scope. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfers to production. Provide technical support of mature electronic products currently in production. Provide entry level technical support on basic, stand-alone engineering assignments under direct supervision. Using prescribed methods, perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Essential Functions:

  • Design mid/lower level complex electrical, controls, and communication equipment and systems to provide automation for water/wastewater industry projects
  • Interpret and assist customer specifications and plans and translate them into a defined engineering scope and deliverables.
  • Complete/support all phases of the engineering process to insure accurate and timely completion of customer approvals and manufacturing drawings.
  • Develop detailed engineering documentation including single-line and three-line diagrams, panel elevations, general arrangements, and wiring schematics.
  • Lead and mentor designer teams to convert engineering concepts into working schematics.
  • Contribute towards establishing Engineering schedule, including the on-time release of equipment specifications, bills of materials, and customer documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager to address technical concerns with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering expertise during estimation, sales, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and operations.
  • Provide technical direction, serve as a point of contact or business liaison, prepare briefings for senior management and assist in problem resolution specific to the program/project.
  • Review Tesco's design tools, procedures, and processes and ensure engineering deliverables are compliant to design standards.

Requirements

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Attend formal training programs, and review journals and other publications related to the field to help develop new skills or improve existing skills.
  • Ability to understand and design, all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously and manage workloads to meet assigned deadlines.

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and methodologies.
  • Working and current knowledge of codes and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • knowledge of AutoCAD/ AutoCAD Electrical.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-15 years of experience in electrical and controls design
  • At least 4-8 years of experience in the design and analysis of automation systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a regulated industry is preferred
