Terre Haute Resort Casino is Hiring a Non-Gaming Food and Beverage Attendant Near Terre Haute, IN

SUMMARY
Candidate is responsible for ordering, delivering and serving food & beverage items to the patrons in various venues and event spaces off the casino floor. Attendants are responsible for providing accurate service, professional appearance and a friendly attitude towards guests and fellow team members. Servers must practice safe food & beverage handling techniques as demonstrated and required by management. Other duties may be assigned.

This individual would work in non-gaming locations such as the pool area, the 10th floor hotel bar, and the event center.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets on arrival and regards on departure to Guests visiting in a warm and inviting manner.
• Is able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment while being calm, collected and accurate with attention to detail.
• Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to include cash and food handling requirements.
• Present and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Work safely, with sanitation, efficiency, and with guest’s loyalty in mind.
• Must be detail oriented and ensure that all items are correct, perhaps hundreds of times over.
• Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the service area and ensures the dining room / venue floor is presentable at all times.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
• Works with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radio, guest paging system, and both computerized and manual table management system.
• Interacts and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty to occur.
• Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority.
• Multi-task ability and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision and show a sense of urgency no matter what the business volume.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Shows dignity, kindness and respect to guests and Team Members.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience in Beverage Service is preferred with POS or Micros type systems. Knowledge of various mixed drinks preferred. Candidate must be customer service oriented, possess good interpersonal skills, strong money handling skills & be able to work in a fast paced environment. Hours vary and will include holidays and weekends. Candidate must keep a positive upbeat demeanor as well as be properly groomed and maintain a professional appearance throughout a shift. All service staffs will be required to learn and be tested on a variety of new products, recipes along with new service and preparation techniques on a regular basis to insure the department is improving as a whole. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing as applicable.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is loud. There is smoking in portions of the casino, and therefore the environment may be smoky.
