Terran Orbital Corporation is seeking an experienced Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial part in executing rewarding work to verify our satellite bus modules for flight. Your primary focus will be manufacturing test leadership. Working hands-on to continue to realize our best-in-industry medium-volume high-technology production line, you will be a driving force behind our space vehicle deliveries!

With a keen eye for detail and solid understanding of Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Test and Test Environments, you will lead the front line supporting factory manufacturing testing. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing robust and repeatable test solutions and ensuring seamless integration of them into our manufacturing processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Test Engineers to define and support the ongoing growth of production verification in a fast-paced, medium-volume aerospace environment
  • Define and maintain the processes and procedures required to stay ahead of manufacturing needs - you will be accountable for the team's success, and will be given the tools, room and support to be successful
  • Hold regular tag ups across multi-disciplinary and vertically-integrated teams to learn new concepts and report on statuses
  • Define and drive metrics-based decision making in manufacturing
  • Own the adoption of data collection and Engineering Information Management (EIM) strategies for module production
  • Work alongside Engineering Teams to Define Test Requirements (TRDs) for a subset of Satellite Modules
  • Support Engineering Teams to:
    • provide dFMEAs guidance based on circuit schematic and layout reviews
    • provide DFT (Design For Test) guidance
    • support engineering and qualification testing, as needed
  • Create and maintain test plans and procedures for manufacturing test
  • Create and maintain pFMEAs
  • Support Test System Engineering to:
    • define, develop and verify test equipment that satisfies the requirements you define
    • execute test equipment design reviews
  • Support Production to:
    • implement and maintain acceptance testing in the manufacturing environment, including owning test readiness reviews (TRRs)
    • be the first point-of-contact for module non-conformances as a highly-capable EE
    • Escalate NCs to Engineering, as required, and work alongside them to drive issues to closure
    • Collaborate with peers and management to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to engineering and leadership clearly and effectively
  • Support debugging and troubleshooting on-site and remotely during off hours as needed.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • 10 years of experience as an electrical engineer or test engineer in a production-support environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality automated solutions.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Salary Range $100,000-$150,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
