Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Counter Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist customers, handle transactions, and ensure a positive experience for all patrons.
We are a to- go restaurant offering pre prepared foods form the kitchen and deli case. There is no table side serving, thus no waitstaff needed. This job takes place mainly behind a service counter, and some light tidying up.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Process payments using a touch screen POS (point of sale systems)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area
- Provide attentive customer service with a smile
- Upsell menu items and promotions to customers
Skills:
- Good customer service skills
- Basic math proficiency for handling transactions
- Knowledge of basic food handling, hygiene and safety protocols
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment when busy
- Sales experience in a retail or food service setting is a big plus
- Familiarity with basic culinary terms and preparation helps
- Understanding of basic retail math principles
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers effectively
