Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is Hiring a X-Ray Technologist Manager Near Nashville, TN

Description

RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients for orthopedic care. Assists managers of X-Ray technologists through image quality, staff scheduling, patient care, equipment inspection and staff licensing requirements. Supervisory responsibilities over X-Ray Technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approve, review and oversee weekly staff scheduling to ensure proper amount of coverage needed for patient care, including all schedule changes to cover staff sickness, vacation and leave; including editing and approving timesheets for Rutherford County.
  • Ensure X-Ray Technologists consistently demonstrate a professional, empathetic service oriented delivery of care wile maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Promptly respond to patient/family member complaints; including notification to the COO and Practice Manager.
  • Maintain records with the State of TN of X-Ray equipment inspections and required licenses of staff to operate X-Ray equipment.
  • Perform satisfactory radiographic procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Review quality of images produced by team members.
  • Assist in annual staff evaluations based off of overall staff performance by providing insights and information.
  • Must be able to lift patients, and transport patients via wheelchair and stretcher.
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanation of exams; answering patient questions.
  • Prepares patient for radiographic procedure by proper patient dressing/ undressing, proper positioning, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposures
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Documents patient radiographic services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Contributes to team effort by willingness to work flexible hours and/or in other areas as necessary.
  • Maintains CE credits in accordance with ARRT/State of Tennessee guidelines.

  • Teamwork: Work with other X-ray tech and clinical staff to ensure seamless workflow of patients. Contributes to team effort by willingness to work flexible hours and/or in other areas/locations as necessary.
  • Productivity/Volume: Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Documents patient radiographic services by charting in patient and department records. 
  • Process Improvement: Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Certificate or Associate/Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology required.
  • State of Tennessee Medical Board X-ray Operators License required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. 
  • Employee will occasionally be asked to lift files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. 
  • Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, a computer, telephone, photocopier, and such other office equipment as necessary. 
  • Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. 
  • Position also requires viewing computer screens and typing for long periods of time, and working in an environment which can be very stressful.
