Equipment Operator Job description

Position Summary:

Maintain golf course and landscaping around the course, clubhouse and other club facilities, including parking lots. Operate and care for course maintenance equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Trims trees; removes cuttings

· Maintains landscape beds around clubhouse and club grounds

· Rakes and blows leaves

· Prepares and lays sod

· Rakes bunkers

· Loads and unloads materials

· Repairs and maintains driving range tees

· Cleans equipment used in practice area

· Operates walk-behind equipment

· Aerifies and spikes greens

· Empties garbage cans

· Maintains maintenance and fluid-use logs (gas and oil) on equipment

· Cleans machinery after each use

· Inspects machinery after each use

· Reports machinery and equipment problems to supervisor

· Makes necessary minor adjustments to equipment.

· Collects and empties litter cans.

· Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts.

· Waters plants

· Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes

· Rakes leaves

· Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the golf course superintendent

Qualifications:

· High school preferred

· Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including weekends

· Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations

Supervises:

· None

Classification:

· Part-time / Full-time, Non-Exempt

Working Conditions:

Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. May be exposed, from time to time, to inclement weather, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, equipment movement hazards, and misdirected golf balls. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed at all times.

Machine/Equipment/Tools Used:

· Golf carts, trucks, spray equipment, mowers, heavy machinery.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to:

· Communicate verbally with staff members and/or members

· Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions

· Visually inspect all work areas

· Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time

· Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly

· Ontime attendance is a priority.

Must meet TNG Performance standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
