How you will make a difference in this role:

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the Tennessee Executive Residence and ensuring the daily functionality of buildings, equipment, and appliances through routine maintenance and vendor coordination. You will be responsible for overseeing a calendar of maintenance projects across varying timeframes, your work plays a vital role in keeping the compound running smoothly and safely. Your keen eye for detail will spot potential hazards and ensure safety through proper electrical wiring and secure storage of equipment. In short, you're the Executive Residence's maintenance mastermind, keeping everything running smoothly and securely for residents, staff, and the property itself.

This position reports to the full-time Maintenance Technician. The position has an on-site, part-time, 3-day-a-week schedule with an hourly starting salary of $22-24 (determined by experience).

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain Executive Residence buildings and structures (Conservation Hall, Pool House, Carriage House, etc.)
• Perform electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, pool, and other maintenance tasks
• Ensure facilities are organized and functional
• Repair minor issues (light fixtures, leaks, etc.) and inspect equipment and appliances for functionality
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters or light bulbs
• Fix faults and troubleshoot issues, such as arranging for replacement of damaged appliances
• Perform major appliance repairs and installations (refrigerators, stoves, washers/dryers, etc.)
• Ensure property safety for occupants, visitors, and employees
• Store harmful objects and equipment securely
• Implement emergency plan with fire response measures and clear exit routes
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors, vendors, and site workers

Requirements:

• Graduation from high school or its equivalency and three years of property maintenance experience

Preferred by not required:

• Additional appliance repair experience is a plus
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn, adapt, follow through, and take ownership of both personal work and teamwork
• Strong communications skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to take ownership of projects
• Software proficiency (Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
