The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of state government. The Office is led by Comptroller Jason E. Mumpower, a constitutional officer who is elected by the Tennessee General Assembly.

Position

The Comptroller’s Division of Technology Solutions (TS) provides technology services and support to the Office’s Divisions and Boards. Technology Solutions ensures its services align with the Office’s specific business needs.
We are looking for a Software Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying web site content and applications for the Comptroller’s Office. This position will work as member of an Agile Team.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the competency, knowledge, skill, and /or ability required with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Proficiency with C# and ASP.Net Core
  • Experience with Azure and/or Azure Government
  • Understanding of the design and development of web-based solutions
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and Git for source code management
  • Experience using Enterprise Agile Project Management Software (TFS/Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub projects)
  • Technical communication skills for interacting with both developers and stakeholders
  • Commitment to learning and continual improvement
  • Innovative thought-process
  • Prior experience with Agile is helpful but not required

A successful candidate in this position must possess strong organization skills, attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written). One must be adaptable and open to change. Experience working in Agile and DevOps team structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities for this position include:

  • Work with developers to design, and maintain complex applications and web solutions
  • Assist with Break/Fix issues
  • Assist in other (e.g. testing) as needed

Compensation

The position is contracted through a third-party vendor that will provide all compensation information.
