The candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to initiate new projects, ensure efficient lab operations, and will have the opportunity to learn and gain experience in a wide range of laboratory methods.Essential functions: Coordinate with team members and vendors to order laboratory supplies; Prepare reagents according to established methods and standard operating procedures; Express and purify proteins from bacterial culture stocks; Perform studies in mouse models; Safely handle radioisotopes; Maintain records of lab-specific documents (lab notebooks, instrument logs, maintenance logs, chemical and biological safety manuals, etc.); Performs other related duties as assigned.At Temple, you will find it easy to fit in while staying true to yourself. Required Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with laboratory-based course work, and at least 6 months of relevant research/laboratory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with handling laboratory equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate standard office equipment and software including MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and data analysis software and DNA sequence analysis software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new techniques to address research problems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong willingness to explore and learn new laboratory procedures.
