Temple Beth El of Boca Raton is Hiring a Part-Time ELC Music Specialist Near Boca Raton, FL
The Music Specialist is responsible for coordinating the music program at the Beth El Early Learning Center. The Music Specialist works with school staff and Clergy to support and implement the Music Program activities and curriculum. Programming will be planned and executed for all Early Childhood students with some programs for parents. This is a part-time position requiring roughly 15-20 hours per week. This role will start in August 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year. JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, which include the following;
Perform daily and long-range planning for music program activities for preschool age children;
Skills with classroom management and creating a classroom climate conducive to learning;
Use effective teaching techniques and strategies during lessons;
Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development;
Provide for individual learning differences and learning skills;
Ability to play at least one instrument;
Assists with carpool program when necessary;
Perform other duties as assigned to help meet the goals of the program or the school.
Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
A talent for working with young children ;
Must have a pleasant singing voice;
Ability to play at least one instrument;
Knowledge of basic education principles and approaches;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent problem solving and attention to detail;
Self- starter with the ability to work both independently and with a team;
Ability to recommend and implement goals, objectives and practices for providing effective and efficient services;
Ability to work with and around children in a kind and caring manner;
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and anticipate needs;
Ability to maintain confidentiality;
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possession of a degree in related field;
Two years of experience in planning, organizing, initiating and supervising music programs;
Child CPR/First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification, is required.
