JOB DESCRIPTION

TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia. We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold chain such as Styrofoam coolers. Job Title: Quality Technician

Location: 4447 Carolina Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222

Description: TemperPack is seeking a talented person to join our Quality team. You will be evaluating our product and performing calibration service on our products. You will also provide feedback on product performance and help maintain our reputation for quality products. This position is a critical role as you will be responsible for maintaining the product’s quality. This position requires attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. With an increased demand for TemperPack product, comes an increase in production, but we will not sacrifice our quality, that is where you come in!

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inspect parts, packaging components, raw materials and finished products.
  • Use measurement tools such as measuring tape, scales and thickness gauges.
  • Inspect and verify labeling and quantities.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing specifications
  • Operate a label scanner and tablet.
  • Identify and control nonconforming product
  • Set an example for best practices for quality and safety.
  • Give actionable direction to production workers and other QC staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to other QC Staff.
  • Identify, monitor and maintain QC test equipment.
  • Quarantine and disposition flagged material.
  • Review and write QC test procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Two years of QC, Warehouse or Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook are required.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or STEM preferred. Physical Requirements:

• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours • Able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.

  • Able to push or pull 40-100lb unassisted.
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts.
