This position will be based in our HQ located in Ashburn, VA.

We are seeking a General Ledger Manager to join our accounting department. We are looking for someone who is independent, hands-on, and a self-directed individual who can own and manage all aspects of the accounting process. The ideal candidate will thrive in driving change, handle competing priorities, and execute with precision while allowing current processes to grow and mature.

Responsibilities:

• The General Ledger Manager will be an integral part of the Accounting and Finance team. This position is primarily responsible for managing the month end close process of the Company while supporting the preparation of financial statements.
• Manage and support the month-end close process including journal entry work, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation.
• Evaluate, develop and improve department controls and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Have a working knowledge of technical accounting areas.
• Assist with external year-end audit and quarterly reviews including preparation of necessary work papers.
• Build and leverage cross-functional relationships within the Company.
• Assist with special projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA required.
• 7 to 10 years in progressive accounting experience, preferably with a foundation in public accounting.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos.
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization, decision making, and planning skills as the candidate will need the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively to achieve the overall goals of the department and the Company.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to be able to identify and proactively propose system and process improvements.
• Must be hands-on and comfortable working independently.
• The candidate must be comfortable and embrace working at a very detailed level (for example, booking journal entries and reconciling accounts) as well as thinking strategically about the Company.
• The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
