Reports To: Sr Human Resources Manager
FLSA: Hourly $20.00-$23.00
Location: Niantic, CT (This is an in-office position)

Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator, under the guidance and direction of the Sr HR Manager, aids with and facilitates the human resources process. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers as needed. The HR Coordinator manages the recruitment and interview process and provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Assists with health and welfare plans administration, including:
    • Manages ID card requests.
    • Addresses general employee questions about benefits.
    • Benefits invoice reconciliation and submissions.
  • Primary in the recruitment process:
    • Posting/Removing job positions internally/externally.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with the staffing agencies and other resources to assist in Telaid's staffing needs.
    • Negotiating contract terms with staffing agencies.
    • Scheduling of initial candidate interviews with hiring managers when requested.
  • Applicant management:
    • Vetting resumes
    • Track status of candidates in HRIS
    • Application disposition in HRIS at the end of the recruiting process, including distribution of follow-up letters.
  • Creation and distribution of offer package to new hire candidates.
  • Input new employee information into payroll and timekeeping systems to create the employee record, Including:
    • Completing I-9 forms, verification of I-9 documentation and maintaining I-9 files.
    • Processing background checks
    • Accurate maintenance of employee digital file and employee records in HRIS.
    • Initiating drug screening requests and tracking progress until complete.
  • Liaison with hiring managers for proper onboarding handoff.
  • Temp employee conversion management.
  • Assists in regular audits of benefits, and HRIS.
  • Complete verifications of employment as needed
  • Backup support for payroll processing.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements.
  • Perform exit surveys/interviews with exiting employees.
  • Workers Compensation Administration
  • OSHA tracking, reporting, compliance.
  • Maintain all HRIS data including department network folders and employee communication sites.
  • Assist with strategy and coordination of employee wellness and engagement activities.
Qualifications
Work Experience & Education
  • 3 years of related overall experience in a Human Resources function preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g., pay and benefits, confidentiality, and conflict resolution).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of HRIS is a plus (Paycom).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, working independently, problem-solving, and decision making.
  • Strength of character, ethics, commitment, and reliability.
