How You Will Make An Impact
- Lab Technicians perform biorepository functions for sample handling, storage, retrieval, disposition, and entering information in a laboratory inventory management system.
- Will also perform specialized services to laboratories, such as sample manipulation, aliquoting, and other handling that may require an aseptic technique.
- Responsible for other aspects of laboratory operations including equipment maintenance and waste handling.
- Develop your skills by suggesting process improvements and participating in laboratory investigations!
- Receive samples, performing inventory and QC to ensure agreement with manifests
- Follow procedures for handling samples and entering sample information in a laboratory inventory management system.
- Perform QC/QA to ensure that sample positions within storage boxes are accurate
- Print and apply labels to vials/containers
- Retrieve samples and prepare them for disposition
- Package samples following all regulations to maintain the required thermal conditions
- Respond to unit alarms; transfer samples as required
- Transfer and/or aliquot samples using universal precautions and following biosafety rules
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience preferred
- Able to lift 60lb routinely.
- Able to stand on a raised platform.
