Description :

CONSTR : Constructs builds repairs and inspects Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC)networks to provide voice video and data to residential andcommercial customers.

Coordinates with other utilities for permits jointtrench pole applications and service issues.

Construction Planner I Performsfield engineering of proposed projects and ensures alternativerouting delivers the most cost effective design for construction.

Coordinates allcustomer implementation activities including site walkthroughs nodeplacements and subcontract labor.

Coordinates contractor work coordinate and / orobtains permits access or ROW agreements where applicabledistributes design prints and other necessary working documents.

Negotiates andapproves design or construction changes.

Researches and reviews plans gathersnecessary data and listing material requirements for project.

Coordinates withpublic works personnel developers commercial customers buildingowners and utilities on joint trench projects.

Maintains workflow databases andupdates schedules. Participates in managing and estimating(revenuedelete) cost forecasts material planning capital andexpense budgets.

Estimates construction costs prepares budgets and tracksexpenses.

Participates in managing and estimating revenueforecasts material planning capital and expense budgets.

Verifiesserviceability surveys proposed service routing and estimatesmaterial construction and labor costs.

Initiates customer contacts coordinatesand / or secures access or ROW agreements completes route designs andtakes necessary steps to meet customer needs.

May order materials or coordinatewith administrative personnel; may verify and reconcile invoices.

May plan andallocate fibers for splicing and activation.

May inspect construction work orcoordinate inspection assignments.

As projects are completed performtasks to close tasks in database / tool reconcile assets and generatereports to ensure proper closure of project.

Typical Training / Experience

HS diploma GED or relevant workexperience

02 yearsof experience in area of responsibility Dept / Org Scope & Impact

Entry level supportrole requiring basic skills; can perform some of the basic taskswithin the function; some impact at the job or department levelProblem Complexity

Performs simple routine work; Selects correct processesfrom clearly prescribed rules past practices or instruction; Seeksadvice and guidance on nonroutine or problem areas from supervisor.
