Job Title: Operations Manager

The Role
The Operations Manager will work directly with the General Manager of Client. The role will have the primary responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of Client’s manufacturing facility located in Nicholasville, KY. This person will be a member of the company’s Leadership Team working to implement key strategies set forth for the business. In addition, the Operations Manager will help lead the company-wide initiatives of standardization and growth to ensure the consistency, efficiency, quality, regulatory, and legal compliance of all activities conducted by the shop teams. This position serves to support the Mission and Vision of Machine Time, Inc.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly driven and organized individual with a continuous improvement mindset. They will be results-focused, possess strong analytical skills, and have experience implementing process improvements which support sustainable growth. Time management and ability to prioritize will be crucial to the success of this position. Ability to work within the assigned budget, manage production team members, and collaborate effectively with fellow leadership is expected.

Operations Management
Oversight of all manufacturing operations and budget to ensure tight-tolerance aerospace parts ship on time and on spec
Lead, motivate, and support teams across multiple shifts within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including scheduling of direct reports and problem resolution
Recruit, train, and manage machinists/team leaders, providing coaching through performance management to support their professional development
Lead teams in the establishment and standardization of operational processes while regularly evaluating practices for improvement opportunities
Explore opportunities to increase the quality of products and customer service
Set goals at the shop level which tie back to overarching business objectives
Analyze/interpret data and metrics, establishing corrective measures as needed
Monitor operational systems and implement processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and KPI inhibitors
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
Collaborate with key leaders to make decisions that support the overarching business objectives
Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization
Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and establish a trusting, inclusive, and productive working environment
Safety & Compliance
Establish mindset of Safe Excellence by training staff and empowering team to take action in addressing quality and people safety concerns as necessary
Ensure compliance to all safety protocols, quality certifications, regulatory controls (OSHA/ITAR/AS9100), taking corrective action when necessary

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business or engineering related field
3 years in operations management in a manufacturing environment
Experience with maintaining compliance to OSHA regulations
Excellent people-management, emotional intelligence, and leadership abilities
Strong organizational, time-management, computer, and communication skills
Knowledge of business functions (Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, etc.)
Experience performing data analysis and tracking key performance metrics
Systems thinker with an ability to streamline processes for increased productivity
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to drive business results
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of CNC machining, ITAR, and/or AS9100
Budget and project management experience
Six Sigma (Green Belt) or experience implementing LEAN/TPM manufacturing
Experience working with startups or scaleup of small businesses
