About The Job:

· The Design Manager manages the design department, all the design personnel and is responsible for the overall performance of the staff and department.

· Is responsible for project and workload coordination within the Design Department.

· This includes monitoring the path of a project from time of the intimal request, through the final installation. Accountable to managing and adhering to the department budget, representing design in sales presentations, and ensuring accuracy and professionalism from the team.

· The Design Manager also ensures that the department maintains and delivers the highest level of quality and service for the end results of client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Management of Department:

· Analyse sales projections, design activity, and senior management feedback to optimize design resource deployment.

· Manage team assignments to balance and support workload activities effectively.

· Ensure maximum staff productivity by reviewing, prioritizing, and coordinating schedules.

· Redirect activities and resources as needed to meet project goals and deadlines.

· Provide coaching and direction to staff designers.

· Monitor design hours and ensure alignment with estimated project hours.

· Review design invoicing for accuracy and completeness.

· Manage the design budget within provided guidelines.

· Represent the design department at management meetings, addressing concerns and seeking feedback.

Sales & Marketing:

· Actively engages in marketing design services and represents the department in sales presentations.

· Prepares estimates, quotes, and contracts for large or complex projects.

· Reviews department staff estimates, quotes, and contracts to ensure accuracy and alignment with terms, pricing, and scope.

Organizational Interfaces:

· Aid sales in defining project design scope and develop plans to meet client deadlines.

· Coordinate design, sales, and operations interactions for top-tier customer service.

· Collaborate with clients and third-party firms, including A&D firms, contractors, and engineers.

Process Quality and Customer Satisfaction:

· Enforce performance standards for customer work.

· Drive ongoing quality improvement in design processes for accuracy and productivity.

· Ensure clear, documented, and disciplined implementation of all design procedures.

Technology and Software:

· Collaborates with IT to procure optimal productivity software.

· Partners with management to optimize cost-effective computer and office equipment.

· Ensures efficient use of E-manage throughout the design process.

· Works with the department to maintain updated, accurate files in an efficient storage system.
