Who Our Client Is: Our client is a Post-Trade financial services company. They provide solutions to support clearing and settlement services to financial markets. Through their organization and their subsidiaries they provide products to serve the needs of entities across asset classes from initial onboarding through clearance, settlement asset servicing, data managmenet, and trade reporting. Coupled with the highest level of security and soundness our client is focuse don ensuring the financial markets are safe, and running smoothly. Why this position is open: Our client has embarked on a significant network Modernization journey that includes multiple large projects, and multi-year initiatives. Currently they are in the middle of a project that is scheduled to deliver by the end of 2025 and the project has created some growing pains and bandwidth challenges. This Executive Director role will be focused on building strategy and fixing the issues moving forward for the modernization effort. They will have a team of roughly 60 - 70 employees reporting to them, and need to be able to take a high level view of the network and focus on issues like availability, resiliency, and operations. What you will do: As Excitative Director of Networking you will be leading a portion of the Platforms organization and report the Managing Director of Platform. Your role will be centered on supporting Modernization and Transformation efforts for our client by supporting the following: This organization has a great group of engineers and leaders how are experts in their respective tools (BGP, route switch, firewall, load balancing, etc.). This Executive Director will be focused on understanding the big picture, how everything interplays together, and think of a structured way to help solve problems. This role will have a primary focus on High Availability and Resiliency, as well as some focus on operations. They want someone who look through the holistic lense of regional resiliency to ensure things don't go down or force them to use their existing recovery plans. Additionally, given the complexity of the environement the Executive Director should be evaluating how to simplify and streamline the network, and tools leveraged as they continue on their modernization journey. Much of the modernization effort you will lead is tied to generational lifecycle managmeent, moving from a 3 tier topology based on STP to spine and leaf networking to have a more flat network, increasing bandwidth in switching fabric and moving to Zero Trust Architecutre where appropriate. Additionally, our client is supporting 3 different networks, there is a Campus network that supports the employees working within this organization, there are the Production data centers hosting workloads, as well as a client network supporting hundreds of clients and used to connect them to services offered. So being able to navigate not only the complex modernization effort, but also a complex network architecture will be crucial to this role.
