Responsibilities

What you get to do every day:

• Provides Oracle database administration support in a production environment
• Installing and configuring new MySQL servers (5.x and 8.x)
• Upgrading MySQL databases, both major and minor revisions
• Administering MySQL account access, backups and table spaces
• Migrating MySQL databases
• Monitoring MySQL server performance
• Provides architecture and business consulting services
• Functions as lead consultant and project manager on technically complex projects
• Occasional after hours call-in required on an as needed basis

Qualifications

What skills do you need?

• Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
• Minimum General Experience: At least ten (10) years developing and delivering IT Architectures or IT systems design/ engineering services or supported that activity with an organization
• 8 years experience administering to, and engineering solutions with MySQL and Oracle’s database (10 – 12)
• Extensive experience with database design and modeling; as well as, the collection and interpretation of customer requirements relevant to database migration, troubleshooting, performance observation and tuning
• Must be an independent worker with strong communications skills
• Security CE (IAT2 or higher) required

What is ideal?

• Significant experience with the production and deployment of RAC, RMAN backup & recovery desired
• Experience with Streams / GoldenGate, DB security, DB Guard and / or DB Vault, Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, label security, and data migration desired

• Experience in technical operations at DOD agencies, particularly NGA and DIA
