TSI is seeking a full-time technical writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products and directly impacts end users and customers. You will join a team of talented individuals who work collaboratively in a dynamic and supportive environment. Our diverse team of developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts work together to deliver outstanding items to our customers.

As a Technical Writer, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent grammar and written communication skills to improve text clarity, completeness, and cogency. You will be responsible for editing, proofreading, and providing writing support on non-technical and technical documents prepared by subject matter experts (SMEs).

Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and deliver technical manuals based on government-furnished information.
  • Create, revise, and deliver technical notes and reports. 
  • Provide links to a secure data repository with all source files used in creating or revising Technical Manuals, Technical Notes, or Reports.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports or studies systematically identifying changes in technical manuals, technical notes/reports, and related documentation, as specified in DOD and Navy directives. 
  • Develop technical inputs for Navy Sea Systems Command and other naval organizations, including assistance in creation, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and release notes for NAVSEA capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure the accuracy of technical documentation.
  • Edit and proofread technical documentation for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Ensure that technical documentation adheres to company standards and guidelines.
  • Manage documentation projects from start to finish, including planning, writing, editing, and publishing.
  • Generate and deliver technical reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer with a strong portfolio of technical documentation.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • 3 years of technical writing experience, including generating, updating, or revising content in accordance with relevant specifications, templates, and styles. This includes working on electronic, paper, or both documents, depending on the project's needs.
  • Familiarity with consolidating customer feedback, government-furnished standards, and/or technical input to ensure each document draws from and adheres to the appropriate sources.
  • Experience creating and managing content that adheres to writing specifications, including referencing style guides and/or style manuals as a foundation for your work.
  • Proficiency with basic programs within the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and with common productivity software such as Teams and SharePoint.
