Position: Receiving Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:
The Receiving Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our fabrication shop by managing all incoming materials, supplies, and equipment. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion.
Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
· Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and equipment.
· Inspect deliveries for accuracy and quality, noting any discrepancies or damages.
· Verify quantities received against packing slips or purchase orders.
Inventory Management:
· Organize and maintain inventory storage areas.
· Update inventory records in the company database or software system.
· Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of low stock or replenishment needs.
Material Handling:
· Safely and efficiently transport materials and supplies within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed.
· Label and store materials in designated locations according to established procedures.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines for material handling.
Documentation and Record-keeping:
· Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments, including packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery receipts.
· Generate reports on inventory levels, receiving activities, and discrepancies as required.
· Assist with maintaining documentation for compliance purposes.
Communication and Collaboration:
· Communicate effectively with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving schedules, shipment issues, and order updates.
· Collaborate with purchasing, production, and other departments to coordinate receiving activities and resolve any related issues.
· Provide support to other warehouse staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in warehouse management or related field preferred.
· Proven experience in a warehouse or receiving role, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspecting, counting, and recording inventory.
· Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
· Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
